Calgary Flames Honor Andrew Mangiapane During First Period of Game Against Capitals

The Calgary Flames paid tribute to Washington Capitals forward Andrew Mangiapane during the first period of the Tuesday night game between the two clubs with a video tribute during the first television commercial break.

Mangiapane, who was drafted 166th overall by Calgary in 2015 and spent parts of seven seasons (417 GP, 109 G, 106 A). He was traded to the Capitals last summer in exchange for a second-round draft pick.

Mangiapane had recorded 10 goals and seven assists in 48 games played this season with Washington entering the night. He described the feeling of returning to Calgary as “nerve-wracking” prior to tonight’s contest.
