Washington Nationals vs Detroit Tigers Game Thread

After splitting the double header yesterday, the series is up for grabs between the Nationals and the Tigers. Detroit grabbed game one after a big first inning and the Nats took game two following a late inning explosion. Now we are in for a rubber match.

With a lefty on the mound, the Nats are making some tweaks to the lineup. Amed Rosario will play second base instead of Luis Garcia. Paul DeJong will get the start at DH over Josh Bell. For the first time in a while, Daylen Lile will be out of the lineup, with Alex Call playing right field instead. Riley Adams will get the nod behind the plate. Jake Irvin looks to bounce back from a rough outing in Anaheim.

For the Tigers, journeyman Dietrich Enns will get the start. Enns has appeared in three seasons, but those seasons are 2017, 2021 and 2025. So quite the journey for the southpaw. Star left fielder Riley Greene is back in the lineup after sitting in game two of the double header. Spencer Torkelson will DH while Colt Keith plays first base. Javier Baez, who has played all over the field this year is at his natural shortstop.

Getting back to back series wins would be a big plus for the Nats. It would help put their miserable June behind them. The Tigers are a tough test but the Nationals are playing better baseball of late. Comment down below and let’s go Nats!
