Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer once again declare unavailability for Ranji Trophy

India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma along with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer won’t be playing for Mumbai in the next round of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. The Ajinkya Rahane-led side will be taking on Meghalaya at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in BKC from 30th January.

As per the reports in Times of India, it is learned that Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shreyas Iyer will be attending BCCI’s Naman Annual Awards in Mumbai on February 1. After that, the trio will be heading to Nagpur for the short camp ahead of the ODI series against England.

Not only the trio, but all-rounder Shivam Dube also will be missing the match for Mumbai. This is because he was added to the India National Cricket Team for the T20I series against the England National Cricket Team after Nitish Kumar Reddy was ruled out of the series due to a side strain.

A source close to the developments confirmed the same, revealing that after the BCCI awards on 1st February, Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shreyas Iyer will be heading to Nagpur. Speaking to the Times of India, he said:

“Rohit, Jaiswal and Iyer are all likely to attend the BCCI’s Naman Annual awards in Mumbai on February 1. Next day (February 2), they are supposed to report for a short camp to Nagpur before the three-match ODI series against England.”
