Manchester United continue to search for ways to improve their flailing attack.
They have secured a deal for Matheus Cunha but are still locked in negotiations for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.
There have also been numerous links to number nines but no deal has come into fruition as of yet.
Mohammed Kudus as an option
One player the Red Devils have followed for a long time is West Ham United attacker, Kudus.
It was reported that United are still interested in the Ghanian this summer and made an offer to swap Jadon Sancho for him earlier in the summer.
Despite this offer failing to impress the Londoners, it has been stated that the club could still be keen to do a deal for the attacker.
United could miss out on another target
Tottenham Hotspur seem the club who are most advanced in the pursuit of Kudus and United could risk losing another transfer target as the Hammers line up their potential replacements.
Sky Sports in France report that Ademola Lookman “has already decided for several months that he wants to leave Atalanta and has made England his priority.”
The outlet also states that, “West Ham United remains interested in the Nigerian’s profile, and if Mohammed Kudus leaves, the Hammers could make a priority move for Lookman.”
Atletico Madrid also have a keen interest in the player but it is said that the striker would prioritise a move to London, the city of his birth.
Therefore, “the sale of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham could cause the final domino to fall” in the Lookman transfer story.
United have also held a long-term interest in the Nigerian forward but links to the player have cooled off lately.
Double trouble
A potential sale of Kudus to Tottenham and Lookman to West Ham could see two more attacking options off the table for the Red Devils.
United fans will be growing increasingly frustrated that the club’s first pre-season match is in just ten days and there is still little clarity to who United will pursue after the Mbeumo deal is finally completed.
