Happy Halloween!
The Leafs are currently last place in the Atlantic Division. Now that’s some frightening stuff.
That said, there’s no question where the spotlight will be in Toronto this weekend. With one more win, the Toronto Blue Jays could win their first World Series since 1993 and third all-time. Yup, once again, the Leafs are lucky all this is happening, because they played some dreadful hockey in the month of October.
At any rate, we talked some Blue Jays before transitioning to a conversation about the Leafs’ game in Philly. Will Scott Laughton play? We’re just speculating, but it’s unlikely. There’s a better chance that Chris Tanev returns to the lineup. William Nylander’s status is in flux, too. It really feels like the Leafs need this one. You hate to coin a game in early November a “must-win”, but it really has that feel. Bottom line: They need to responding after that drubbing in Columbus. For what it’s worth, the Leafs are 9-1-0 in their past 10 meetings with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Have a great weekend! We’ll be back on Monday at 11 AM ET. Join us as we recap Leafs/Flyers and preview Leafs/Penguins. Also, TSN’s James Duthie will drop by the show.
