The Atlanta Braves got back in the win column after Thursday night’s 8-6 win over the Miami Marlins. It was a night to remember for Drake Baldwin, who homered twice and recorded five RBI.
Baldwin got things going with a solo shot in the second inning, then turned the game on its head with a three-run blast in the sixth that brought the Braves right back into it. He capped things off with an RBI single in the seventh that tied the game, setting up the go-ahead run moments later.
After Thursday’s contest, Baldwin’s Rookie of the Year buzz just keeps getting louder.
The Braves continue the series against the Fish at Truist Park tonight at 7:15 ET.
David O’Brien of the Athletic reported that Ronald Acuña Jr. has taken both batting practice and ground balls and has excelled at doing so after landing on the 10-day IL.
Cam Caminiti logged an eight-strikeout night for the Augusta GreenJackets. More in the minor league recap.
