The Atlanta Braves opened the series on a high note after Friday night’s 4-1 win over the Seattle Mariners. Chris Sale turned in an impressive start, throwing a dominant 6.2 innings of one-run ball. He gave up just four hits and struck out nine.
Offensively, things started to click for the Braves in the eighth inning, where they plated three runs. Ozzie Albies, Drake Baldwin, Ha-Seong Kim, and Matt Olson each recorded RBI.
The Braves look to take the series this evening at 7:15 ET behind Hurston Waldrep.

The New York Mets optioned right-hander Kodai Senga to Triple-A Syracuse. The club also announced that catcher Francisco Alvarez was reinstated from the injured list.
