A rough 2025 season for Yordan Alvarez just got even worse.
The Houston Astros slugger suffered an ugly ankle injury during Monday’s game against the Texas Rangers. During the first inning at Daikin Park in Houston, Alvarez drew a walk and then came around to score on a throwing error by Rangers pitcher Jack Leiter.
As Alvarez stepped on the plate just ahead of the throw, his foot slipped, causing a gruesome turn of his left ankle (with his knee seemingly giving way a bit as well).
