Washington Nationals vs Detroit Tigers Game Thread 1/2

After a series win over the Angels, the Nationals got two days off. One was a scheduled off day, the other came because of rain. Now they are ready to start July following a tough June. They will start against the Tigers who have the best record in the American League.

With a left handed opener for Detroit, the Nats are rolling out an interesting lineup. Lefty killers Alex Call and Amed Rosario will start today. Call will be in left field and Rosario will be at second base. This pushes Luis Garcia Jr. and Josh Bell to the bench and James Wood to DH. Drew Millas will get his second straight start behind the plate. Trevor Williams will get the start for the Nats.

The Tigers have opener Tyler Holton on the mound. While their lineup is not star studded outside of Riley Greene, they are stacked with solid contributors. Guys like Gleyber Torres and Spencer Torkelson have had bounce back years in 2025. While they are missing Kerry Carpenter, this is a solid Tigers lineup.

The Nationals showed signs of life on their recent west coast trip. They need to keep that up here in DC. Their last home stand was disastrous and the home fans deserve better. Time to put on a show. Comment down below and let’s go Nationals!
