Royals will wear full powder blues every Saturday home game

Everything old is new again.

The Royals announced they will be wearing full powder blue jerseys for every Saturday home game this year – tops and pants. The team had worn powder blue tops before, but with white pants.

However instead of a traditional blue Royals cap, they’ll wear caps with a white front and an alternate Royals logo.

The team will also wear the powder blue uniforms on Opening Day on March 27 against the Guardians.

While other teams have gone through dozens of iterations of their uniforms, the Royals have largely stayed true to their basic design, save for the occasional powder blue unis and the popular City Connect jerseys.

The Royals wore powder blue uniforms on the road from 1969 until 1991, when they changed to gray road uniforms. The team has mixed in occasional powder blue uniforms for certain home games starting in 2008.

What do you think of the full powder blues? What do you think of the alternate hat?
