India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav said on Tuesday that since his return to international cricket, mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has become a different player—in that he is mentally stronger and plays with a grin on his face. Chakravarthy’s 5/42 outstanding numbers in India’s convincing victory over New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday allowed the squad to lead their group en route to the semifinals of the competition. At an occasion here Suryakumar, the spokesperson of Moha, informed the press,
“There are two different Varun Chakravarthy’s in 2021 and when he has returned.”
The pick of Chakravarthy, who did not appear in the first two group matches, turned out to be a brilliant one. He is a bit tough mentally, but he is smiling a lot and accepting everything in his stride regardless of what happens on the field—this is very good from a cricketer’s perspective.
I’m very happy for him. Suryakumar continued, “He merits everything for what he’s been doing and all the recognition for what has been happening with him.
Suyrakumar remarked that even though the smallest format has mostly centered on all-rounders, teams should select players with particular skill sets; he has been a very hard working sportsman since 2021 and I have spoken with him many times since he returned to international cricket.
“Ultimately, your ability and the skills you bring to the team are everything.” Suryakumar also noted that Mumbai Indians will not have any leadership dilemma in the IPL since every present Indian captain is on their side; therefore, you should select those bowlers if it helps the team.
“As soon as we visit our house, it feels like a family, so we don’t think about that, we have three captains or we have four captains.” He went on to say, “We suppose we are one .
“It is as excellent as a facility where we have learnt much, developed much over there, and gone on to play for India.” We work as a team upon entering that dressing room, he noted.
Although Hardik Pandya captains Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions have Rohit Sharma, India’s Test leader, T20I captain Suryakumar, and also Jasprit Bumrah, who led India in two Test matches on the Australian tour.
“Yes, there are many captains in the squad, but when we meet, be it five people, seven people, or ten, we make a call… The 34-year-old Suryakumar stated he wants to keep concentrating on all formats at present. And then, how would we wish to move the ship forward?
“My cricket started all red ball. He said gradually I went into white ball styles and then started ODIs and then T20Is.
“It’s important; therefore I enjoy the game and play every format. He said, I enjoy playing this sport really enthusiastically and one format at a time.
