The Nationals have been pretty lifeless in these unusually early games this season. They will hope to change that this afternoon. It will be an early start today as they look to win a rubber match with the Pirates and continue their strong September.
There are a couple changes to the lineup. Yesterday’s bobblehead boy, Dylan Crews will be out of the lineup. Robert Hassell will slide over to right field and Jacob Young will play center. Daylen Lile will be the left fielder as James Wood moves to DH. Riley Adams will be back behind the plate and Nasim Nunez will play second base. Cade Cavalli will be on the mound.
The Pirates are also making some tweaks to their lineup. Lefties Oneil Cruz, Ji Hwan Bae and Spencer Horowitz will be back in the lineup. Joey Bart will assume the catching duties today. Veteran Andrew McCutchen will not be in the lineup for this early game. Rookie Mike Burrows will be on the mound for the Pirates.
